Fearlessness
Fearlessness is not the absence of fear. It is the acknowledgment of fear and the willingness to work with it and move beyond it. The refusal to acknowledge fear can cause us to burrow into a hole. That hole becomes a hiding place, providing a claustrophobic atmosphere. There is a maxim that says,” When you realize you are in a hole, stop digging.” In engaging fearlessness you do stop the digging. Smell the walls, feel the suffocation. You realize that although you feel safe you are really just slowly dying. Embrace the fear and own it. Acknowledging it begins to cultivate the ability to move beyond it.
